'Rolling Out an iPad Program Over a Special Orientation Week'

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

We will share lessons learned during our first 1:1 iPad roll out in the Middle School.
Together, with a number of Middle School teachers, we have developed a one-week
orientation for grade seven students that focuses on helping students get organized
for the school year. During the week, students attend a variety of workshops that
help them set up with their device. Workshops include organizing their e-agenda
(Cogito app), learning the basics of Notability and accessing/submitting work
online. In addition, students attend a couple of sessions on digital citizenship. At
the end of the week, students work together with their advisory to create their
own Acceptable Use Policy and put it together in a collaborative book using Book
Creator. As part of our Middle School 1:1 iPad program, we have also initiated what
we call the iPride Squad; a group of student experts that help their peers and faculty
members with their device.
