'Technically Invisible: Getting Started with Mobile Devices in the Elementary BYOD Classroom '

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The idea of allowing elementary students to bring mobile devices to school can be intimidating. Finding meaningful ways to integrate myriad devices can be even more daunting. Careful planning and flexible thinking are key to any successful pilot or implementation. Attendees in this session will learn practical ways to integrate BYOD in elementary classrooms with a particular focus on safety, digital citizenship, logistics, cooperative learning, and maximizing resources. Cross-platform tools will be explored, as well as ways to share limited access to district-owned iPads and devices. Ideas for introducing iPads and mobile devices to young students as learning tools will also be shared. Once students are up and running with mobile devices, how can they be used? The possibilities are endless!
