EdTechTeacher iPad Summit Boston 2014

This lively, practical and action packed session combines accessible and engaging innovation with a structured, progressive whole-school approach to teaching writing in the 21st Century primary classroom.With an emphasis on engaging even the most reluctant young writers, the carefully structured activities follow a process based on best classroom practice and harnessing the transformative power of the iPad to ensure maximum impact on learning.

Featuring many opportunities for drama and role play, planning, drafting, editing, and publishing this full day will allow educators to ensure that classroom technology is used to raise standards of writing in all curriculum areas.iPads and a number of key apps will be used throughout the day demonstrating how new technology can transform outcomes for all pupils in speaking and listening, reading and writing.

This session will give educators:
◦ A clear and structured approach to teaching all genres of writing using popular games as a stimulus.
◦ A whole-school approach to teaching cross-curricular writing which was developed for The UK National Literacy
◦ A bank of activities which raise standards, secure rapid progress and make a sustained impact on all young writers, even those who are most reluctant.
◦ A transferable cross-curricular approach demonstrating a clear, accessible progression covering: Talk for writing/ oral rehearsal, planning, drafting, feedback/collaboration and digital publishing.
◦ Activities which support all pupils, with significant impact on reluctant writers, pupils with special educational needs
