Three new 21st century literacies need focused integration in curriculum planning, assessment design and teaching approaches: digital, media, and global.  How can we engage every member of the school community into digital literacy upgrades?  How do we help our students critique and create media that prepares them for future careers and college? How can we cultivate globally connected learners by opening the portals to our classroom?   These questions will be addressed in this lively and engaging action lab.   Dr. Jacobs will share her newest model that provides practical steps in identifying each literacy in classroom practice and show their intersection in dynamic project design for learners K-12. Based on her recently released four book series with Solution Tree, Contemporary Perspectives on  the New Literacies Heidi will focus on how to make the transition from dated practices to a dynamic approach with your faculty.  Special attention will given to aligning to standards and mission statements.  Please bring your laptops or tablets for a productive session!
